Sources & methodology

Where the numbers and guidance come from

The guide combines food-composition databases with public-health and regulatory guidance. Regional rules are labelled rather than presented as universal.

Method

Useful figures, without false precision

Nutrition values are rounded reference estimates. The calculator uses a 50 g edible large egg as its base, then scales smaller and larger servings by edible weight.

Eggs vary naturally with size, breed, feed and analysis. Daily-value percentages also differ between jurisdictions, so the guide identifies them as approximate rather than treating one country’s labelling system as universal.

See what the evidence actually says

The Evidence Library selects important trials, reviews and official opinions, then states both the useful finding and its limits.

Editorial approach

General nutrition statements are kept separate from medical advice. Safety, grading and storage information is attributed to a region because production systems and official recommendations differ.

Pages are reviewed when major guidance or source datasets change. The date in the footer records the latest site-wide review.

Evidence labels

How confidence is communicated

Strong

Supported by consistent authoritative guidance or high-quality evidence with little practical disagreement.

Moderate

Supported overall, but effect size, study design or individual response requires qualification.

Context dependent

The answer materially changes with health status, country, preparation, dose or the rest of the diet.

Every evidence card names its source and review date. We distinguish measured facts from estimates, avoid converting population guidance into personal medical advice, and correct material errors when identified.
